Commanding Officer

Captain C.M. Rieman

Born on September 14th, 1976, in Ottawa, Ohio first of three children (Carrie and Mike) to Gerald and Darcie Rieman.  Currently single and never married.

Graduated from Ottawa-Glandorf high in spring of 1995.  Enrolled a The Ohio State University in the fall of 1995 and graduated with a B.A. in Criminology and Sociology the winter of 1999.  Attended Officer Candidate School Jan 2000 and commissioned a 2ndLt April of 2000.  Upon completion of OCS attend The Basic School from April 2000 to Oct 2000.  Upon completion of TBS attended the basic officer communication MOS school from Oct 2000 to April 2001.  2ndLt Rieman received orders to report to 3rdMAW, Marine Wing Communications Squadron 38 in April 2001 to serve as the Data Platoon Commander for Alpha Company.

1stLt Rieman then received orders in June 2002 to Marine Wing Support Squadron 372, Camp Pendleton to serve as the Squadron Communications Officer.  As a primary staff member, 1stLt Rieman was responsible for a section of 60 Marines, a $10 million communications T/E, and all the operational planning for the Squadron’s communication mission.  In Jan 2003, was deployed in support of OEF/OIF.  1stLt Rieman was responsible for planning a communications network in Ali Al Salem, Kuwait in order to support a base camp of 5000 personnel.  Provided all the squadron communication planning for the invasion into Iraq, which involved wide dispersion of all the unit’s equipment and personnel throughout Iraq.  

1stLt Rieman returned from Iraq in June of 2003 and was given orders to report to the 1stFSSG G-6 in Oct 2003.  1stLt Rieman was initially assigned as the Navy and Marine Corps Intranet officer for the 1stFSSG.  Facilitated all the planning for an early distribution of NMCI equipment prior to 1stFSSG’s second deployment to Iraq.  During this time, 1stLt Rieman was assigned as the Network Operations Center OIC and was responsible for maintaining the garrison network for the entire 1stFSSG.  In July 2004, 1stLt Rieman was frocked to Capt and deployed to TQ, Iraq as the 1stFSSG G-6 Operations Officer.  Capt Rieman was responsible for all the operational planning for all the communications requirements for the 1stFSSG, including the planning for operation Phantom Fury into Fallujah.  In December of 2004, Capt Rieman returned to Camp Pendleton to fulfill the remaining time of his active duty contract and was honorably discharged in July of 2005.  During this period Capt Rieman also attended Norwich University from Jan 2004 to June 2005 and earned a Masters degree in Justice Administration.

In December 2005, Capt Rieman joined the SMCR and began drilling with MP Company C as the remain behind Commanding Officer.  Capt Rieman has recently been offered a position with the Dublin Ohio Police Department and will attend the Ohio Highway Patrol Basic Police Officer Academy from Aug to Dec 2006.

Capt Rieman’s awards include 2 Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medals, National Defense Service Medal, Iraq Campaign Medal, Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Presidential Unit Citation, and 2 Sea Service Deployment Ribbons.

Company First Sergeant

1st Sgt. Kevin Jewitt

PERSONAL:  First Sergeant Jewett was born on 19 September 1959 in Steubenville, Ohio.  He entered the United States Marine Corps on 23 February 1981 and was promoted to his current rank on 01 January 2005.  First Sergeant Jewett currently resides with his wife, Donna J. Jewett, in Plain City Ohio.  He is the father of son-Kyle E. Jewett (20), daughter-Jessie J. Jewett (11), son-Johnathan R. Jewett (11), and stepfather to Danielle L. Funk (20).

CIVILIAN OCCUPATION:  State Trooper, Ohio State Highway Patrol (OSHP).  Currently assigned to Capital Operations, Post 97, Columbus, Ohio.  He has been a State Trooper for 20+ years entering the Highway Patrol 28 October 1985.

Previous assignments with the Highway Patrol include;

West Jefferson Post 49 (Road Trooper 1989 to 1997)

District 6 Investigator (Plainclothes Investigator 1997-1997)

General Headquarters – Office of Investigative Services (Plainclothes Investigator 1998-2002)

First Sergeant Jewett was activated for military duty November 2002.  He did not return until January 2005.  After returning from Military service he was assigned to his present position at Capital Operations.
